District Beaver and Cub Badge Day

Date: 24th Nov 2017 Author: Scout Websites
On Saturday 18th November a District Badge Day was held at Scout Park, Bounds Green for the Beavers and Cubs Sections. A total of 5 Beaver Colonies, (46 Beavers ) and 7 Cub Packs, (65 Cubs) attended on the day.

All the groups were split up into teams which was a great opportunity to meet and mix with Beavers and Cubs from other groups and meet up with friends made from previous events. The Beavers completed their Camp Craft Activity Badge and the Cubs completed 2 badges, the Backwoods Cooking Activity Badge and the Pioneer Activity Badge.

The weather was damp but the Beavers and Cubs didn’t seem to notice
and were kept very busy completing all the criteria of the badges. The involvement from the Leaders was fanastic with everyone lending a hand to make the day run smoothly. It was also great to see so many parents who were equally happy to get stuck in (potentially new leaders in making?). For me the quote of the day came from a parent; ‘I didn’t know there were other groups in the District’.

Evette (‘Spikey’), District Beaver Leader had a great programme for the day and many thanks to her and her team who made it such a successful event. Many thanks also to Leigh (21st/23rd Fulham) and his ‘Bushcraft’ Team for demonstrating Fire Lighting and Knot skills to the Cubs. I’m sure you will see from the accompanying photos a great day was had by all.
