Scouts (10.5-14)

The Scouting adventure!

The Original. Scouts are diverse, dynamic and well-rounded individuals. We know because we help to foster your development!

Scouting in West London moves forward from Cub Scouts, with each Scout Troop consisting of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping throughout the year (yes, winter as well as summer!). Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.

We aim to teach life-skills, just about anything you wouldn’t pick up from school. Frim tying a range of knots, fixing and repairing equipment, chopping wood, to care of the environment you are in and respect of the world around you. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to solve a problem yourself, we give you the means.

Being a Scout in West London allows you to interact with a range of different people of different backgrounds. You all come together to achieve things you wouldn’t otherwise. Of course it’s more than the life skills – Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography, weekend hikes and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.

If you want to learn theatre skills, we’ll show you the way. If you want to kayak on the Thames, we’ll find a way. Join us and find out, life’s an adventure!

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
